INTRODUCTION TO RAJA MOTOR COMPANY LIMITED

Raja Group of companies entered Automobile business in 1948 and incorporated Raja Motor Company Limited, in 1993, for distribution, sales and marketing of imported cars, LCV's, Busses and Coaster with its vast and rich experience of the country's automobile market, the company has entered into a technical collaboration agreement with the world famous FIAT auto Italy for progressive assembly-cum-manufacture of FIAT cars in Pakistan in 1997. The project is located in Landhi Industrial Area, Karachi. It has a land area of 10 acres which includes main production area and warehousing with a built-up area of approximately 1,50,000 sq.ft. at a cost or Rs. One Billion. The market value of the project today is about thirty (30) Million US$. The project was inaugurated by President of Pakistan in January 2001. It commenced production in March 2001 with Fiat Uno 1700 c.c. diesel model.

New Car Plant

Spade work and designing of the plant was started in middle of 1998 with the supervision of Italian engineers and technical advisor. However, all steel structural work especially in paint shop was indigenized and carried out locally

under FIAT approved technical design under the expertise of Italian engineers. Moreover, all special tools and equipments were sources directly around the world.
